Guy Nelson

I moved to Wix in May 2008 from Dovercourt where I lived for the previous nineteen years. I was co-opted onto the Wix Parish council in August 2008.

I was brought up and went to school in West Oxfordshire; I went to University in Sheffield where I studied chemistry and then to Leeds where I did a PGCE. I moved to Essex in 1988 to take a teaching job at the Harwich School and in 1990 I started working at the Carless Refinery in Parkeston where I have been ever since.  

In my spare time I enjoy DIY, gardening, swimming and church bellringing. I ring the bells regularly at Mistley and I am trying to start a handbell team in Wix with a view to raising money for charity at Christmas. 

​I also spend a lot of my spare time on Parish Council business, this can be anything from agreeing the meeting agenda with the clerk to running the annual village fireworks display or strimming around the edges and picking up rubbish on the village playing field.
